As of the census[1] of 2000, there were 93 people, 39 households, and 23 families residing in the village. The population density was 370.3 people per square mile (143.6/km²). There were 48 housing units at an average density of 191.1 per square mile (74.1/km²). The racial makeup of the village was 98.92% White, and 1.08% from two or more races.
There were 39 households out of which 33.3% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 48.7% were married couples living together, 7.7% had a female householder with no husband present, and 38.5% were non-families. 35.9% of all households were made up of individuals and 17.9% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.38 and the average family size was 3.13.
In the village the population was spread out with 24.7% under the age of 18, 8.6% from 18 to 24, 34.4% from 25 to 44, 16.1% from 45 to 64, and 16.1% who were 65 years of age or older. Little Laura Ingalls Wilder with her family, aunt Polly Melona Ingalls and uncle Henry Odin Quiner with their children moved here in 1868. Laura's family left the place in 1869.
